This family portrait session was special for me because this family is special to me! Shawna and I go way back to sophomore year of high school when we became close while costarring in a one-act play together. She plays a pretty big role in some of my most cherished memories. She married John just a few years ago, but it feels like I've known him for many more. You might recognize them since they are repeat PBL clients. Each time I get to take their portrait, I find something completely new and unexpected in their images. These two always shine in portraits and it was a huge treat to watch their beautiful baby boy do the same! They have a way of inspiring me like few others do, and this session was no exception. They recently relocated to New Haven, so my husband and I were able to hop on the train and go for a short visit. Because I was staying for the weekend, I was able to wander around their home and really take my time with the baby and get him used to being in front of such a large camera. That also allowed me to grab some really special moments while the family was getting ready which made for much more authentic images. I wanted to capture their new life together in this new place, so their home really became the fourth character in their family portraits. I hope you enjoy a few shots from their family portrait session!
