I'm excited to share Carisa and Jake's Wyoming wedding with you guys. We had such a fantastic time in Cheyenne! I've only driven through the Midwest and had never spent time in Wyoming before. It was beautiful and we had such a wonderful time exploring and meeting all of their friends and family. I love the history of Cheyenne, especially the history that Carisa's family has there. For generations, Carisa's family has been married in St. Mary's Cathedral in downtown Cheyenne. History like that always makes things a little sweeter. :) Throughout the weekend it became clearer and clearer that these two are truly in love. You can just see the friendship that they share when they are together, and it was an honor to capture that for them. Here's a glimpse into their day. Enjoy! My husband didn't fancy himself a photographer before he met me. All it took was a couple quick lessons, a few tips here and there, and some experience. The man is a natural. :) I sent him off to grab a few of the guys getting ready...Portraiture with these two is a dream. From when we first met in Washington D.C. for their engagement session, to their wedding day, they were naturals in front of the camera. I am simply obsessed with Carisa's eyes! Natural beauty. Now on to their ceremony at St. Mary's Cathedral. This church was gorgeous and they were gorgeous in it! A shot of them leaving the church was a special request as Carisa's parents and grandparents all have images of them on the stairs on their wedding day. I just love the symmetry!Rain threatened our portrait hour, but we weren't scared. There was no way that I was coming all the way to Wyoming and NOT capturing some of Cheyenne's rustic charm in their wedding day portraits. Carisa was AMAZING and willing to do anything to get the shot. A little rain didn't scare her one bit. My kind of girl. :)I became more obsessed with trains then a 3 year old boy that week. I just loved that the place was so rich with history due to those trains that I had to include them. This next image is one of my favorite images I have taken to date. It's a little weird for a wedding portrait with the movement and unexpected focal point, but I am weird. So I love the weirdness. They had their reception at Taco John's Event Center in the ice skating rink. It turned out lovely with all of the fabric hung around the space. I loved how Carisa weaved her passion for music throughout her details. The food was delicious and the dancing was fun!Carisa and Jake, thank you so much for this wonderful experience. We can't wait to come back and visit!! I wish you two many, many years of happiness.
